Ask what heats the cabin, who starts or maintains the system and whether fuel is supplied or needs to be arranged. Wood stoves can be effective but require safe operation, dry fuel and ventilation. Water and bathrooms

Water may come from a mains connection, well, spring, tank or another private system. Check whether it is treated, drinkable and available year-round. Bathroom arrangements can include a conventional flush toilet, a dry system or an arrangement outside the main building. These are not quality judgments; they are planning details.

Electricity and connectivity

Confirm the voltage and likely capacity before relying on appliances, medical devices or remote work. Off-grid systems may support lighting and charging without supporting high-load equipment. Sleeping, cooking and storage

Look for the actual sleeping arrangement rather than a broad capacity label. Check whether beds are open-plan, separated, lofted or reached by stairs. Cooking information should cover the hob, oven, refrigerator, cookware and waste process. Storage matters for boots, food, outdoor equipment and wet clothing, especially in small cabins.

Outdoor facilities and arrival

Parking, firewood storage, terraces, saunas and outdoor fire areas may be useful, but each needs operating information. Ask about safe fire practice, quiet hours, weather limitations and whether a sauna or wellness facility is private or shared. Confirm the exact check-in process, key location and final route before travel.
